They have been rocking the music scene for several years and Portugal The Man is known for tucking its fans to bed with a blend of psychedelic tunes. The American rock band hails from Wasilla, Alaska. It is comprised of Zach Carothers, John Gourley and Kyle O'Quin. Their musical association started when Gourley and Carothers met at Wasilla High School. Their initial two collections were produced with Fearless Records. On April 2, 2010, they switched to Atlantic Records. The band has produced six full-length collections in six years, done constant tours, a stretch with The Black Keys and stops at Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. When it came time to start chipping away at the band's seventh collection, Gourley contemplated the following move and continued returning to one idea. The most fulfilling work is synergistic work. In the spring of 2012, John Gourley ended up in New York City at Danger Mouse's apartment. That was far from his present home in Portland and even further from his home in Alaska but he hoped to make the seventh album take them further through synergy. Portugal The Man has several shows booked around America in 2017. Earlier this year the band members uncovered their new collection, "Gloomin + Doomin". They shared a video for a track that will be incorporated on the follow-up to 2013's Evil Friends. Taped in Alaska with executive Michael Ragen, the official video for the track "Commotion Pollution" highlights Zoe Manville. It also features Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Fans can see the rock band on tour from March 9 in Boise, Idaho. They will be playing at different venues for two months right up to April 15-16 in San Antonio, Texas. They will also be performing live in June and July, with their final show for the summer at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California, on July 29.
